• Payment information: Billing details processed securely through Stripe. We do not store your full credit card number on our servers.
• Communications: Messages you send to us via email or through the app.

• Device and usage data: Browser type, operating system, IP address, pages visited, and interaction patterns.
• Location data: With your permission, approximate or precise location to place your cats on the community map and power map browsing for supporters.
• Local storage: We use browser localStorage to remember preferences and prevent duplicate form submissions.

2. How We Use Your Information

• Provide and operate the WellFedCats platform, including the community map, feeding tracker, and funding features.
• Process feeding request payments from supporters to feeders.
• Send you launch updates, service notifications, and (with your consent) marketing emails.
• Feature content you post publicly (such as cat photos and feeding photos/videos) in our marketing and promotional materials, as described in Section 7 of our Terms of Service.
• Track achievements, Meow-stones, and badges within the platform.
• Improve our services, fix bugs, and analyze usage patterns.
• Prevent fraud, abuse, and enforce our Terms of Service.

3. How We Share Your Information

We do not sell your personal information. We share data only with:

• Stripe: Our payment processor, for handling subscriptions and transactions. See Stripe's Privacy Policy.
• Kit (ConvertKit): Our email marketing service, for sending waitlist updates and newsletters. See Kit's Privacy Policy.
• Other users: Your public feeder profile, feeding history, and cat profiles are visible to other users as part of the platform's transparency features.
• Marketing and social media platforms: When we feature publicly posted photos or videos in our marketing, that content may appear on third-party platforms such as social media networks and advertising services. We do not share your private account data with these platforms.
• Legal requirements: When required by law, court order, or to protect the safety of our users.

4. Location Data

Feeders use location data to place their cats on the community map. Supporters use it to browse nearby cats and request feedings. Location access is optional and can be granted or revoked at any time through your device settings. We use location data solely to power map features and never share precise coordinates with third parties for advertising.

5. Cookies and Tracking

We use minimal cookies and localStorage for essential site functionality such as session management and form submission tracking. We do not use third-party advertising cookies. Analytics data is collected in aggregate to help us improve the platform.

6. Data Security

We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your personal information, including encryption in transit (HTTPS), secure payment processing through Stripe, and access controls on our systems. However, no method of electronic transmission or storage is 100% secure.

7. Data Retention

We retain your personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide our services. If you delete your account, we will remove your personal data within 30 days, except where we are required to retain it by law or for legitimate business purposes (such as resolving disputes). Publicly posted content that has already been incorporated into our marketing materials may continue to be used as described in Section 7 of our Terms of Service.
